For discerning iPad owners for whomScottevest’s iPad jackets are too casual,Mohan’s Custom Tailors says it has designed a custom-made suit with an inner pocket to hold the iPad. Price: $600. New York-based Mohan’s said it came up with the idea after a handful of customers called inquiring about it soon after the iPad’s release. Since announcing the new design last week, it says it has received about 100 calls and scheduled several dozen appointments with customers over the next several weeks.
“Many of the customers are techie men that love new gadgets and want a practical way to carry them,” said a spokeswoman for Mohan.
For iPad users looking for a more utilitarian iPad case and who don’t mind carrying a bag, Totes for Devices has come up with the $49.95 Nimbus Tote, with a clear vinyl pocket on the outside so they can slip their iPads in it for protection and still use it. The bag also comes with straps and can be used to prop up iPads.
